Courses last between 1-8 weeks and enable young learners to consolidate their knowledge of English.
Each week of Mill Hill’s short courses timetable comprises 15 hours of English, and a further 15 hours divided equally between Creative Arts and either Science and Mathematics or Sport. Creative Arts classes include Music, Dance, Drama and Art.
Spring School courses last from one to two weeks, while Summer School courses last from two to eight weeks. Our courses enable young learners to consolidate their knowledge of English, whilst gaining an insight into life in a British boarding school.
Each week also includes two full-day excursions for our students. One excursion takes them to nearby London, while the other explores charming destinations such as Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick Castle, and the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

English
Our English classes form the core of our programme, enabling students of all levels to improve and consolidate their knowledge of the language. All of our courses have 15 hours of English per week. Our students take a placement test on arrival to assess their English level. The results of their tests, along with the age and nationality of students, are given consideration when dividing them into classes. Our classes typically range from A1 – C2 level, ensuring that there is a suitable class for everyone, from those students at beginner level through to those with near native competency. Our maximum class size is 12, and lessons take place at the recently refurbished campus at Mill Hill International.

Science & Mathematics
Students on our Intensive Academic Programme benefit from five ninety-minute Science or Mathematics lessons per week, helping to encourage a comprehensive understanding of these subjects. For students seeking an authentic British boarding school experience we recommend our Intensive Academic Programme, in which their English classes are complimented by dedicated Science and Mathematics lessons. Throughout their course, our students can expect to receive high-quality lessons in disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, giving them a sample of what they might experience in a year-round setting.

Creative Arts
All our courses include a Creative Arts programme, which helps to develop speaking and listening skills and encourages students to express themselves.
Our Creative Arts Classes complement the more formal English lessons, encouraging speaking and listening through a variety of mediums.
During their studies, students will have the opportunity to take part in Music, Dance, Drama and Art lessons, all of which help with building confidence and developing self-expression, while giving them opportunities to practise their English in an authentic setting.

Sports
With 120 acres of space, an indoor heated swimming pool and superb sports facilities, our students can benefit from a wide range of sports.
Students participating in our English Plus Programme have a ninety-minute Sport lesson each day, encouraging physical fitness and providing a well-rounded educational experience. They can expect to take part in a wide range of sports during their time at Mill Hill, a list of which can be found below.
