Academic Round Up
Students at Spring School have been fully immersed in a week of inspiring lessons, building confidence, creativity and curiosity across a range of subjects. From English and Science to film-based discussions, classrooms have been buzzing with collaboration, exploration and enthusiasm.
English lessons have played a central role in the week, helping students develop their speaking skills, expand their vocabulary and express their ideas with growing confidence. Through lively discussions and creative activities, students from around the world have shared perspectives, learned from one another and formed strong connections. The atmosphere has been filled with laughter and conversation as students become increasingly comfortable communicating in English and telling their own stories.
One highlight of the week saw students exploring the difference between past and present tense. After almost a week at Spring School, they put their new language skills into practice by writing postcards home, reflecting on their experiences and describing what they had enjoyed so far. This personal approach to learning made grammar meaningful, allowing students to connect language with real-life experiences.
Science lessons have been equally engaging, sparking curiosity and discovery through hands-on learning. Students asked big questions, explored new concepts and took part in practical activities designed to bring science to life. The excitement in the classroom showed how active learning can deepen understanding and inspire a love for discovery.
Creativity continued in a film-based English lesson, where students listened to a film review and worked together to identify clues and guess the film being described. Using their strong listening and speaking skills, they discussed different genres and shared opinions before writing their own film reviews. To conclude the lesson, each student presented their review to the class, with the teacher turning their work into a class podcast by filming short presentations from each student.
It has been a fantastic week of progress, collaboration and confidence-building. As the course continues, students are already showing how much they are growing, not just in their English skills, but in their willingness to express themselves, share ideas and learn together.
